The VA-402 (Ivan Dunov Superior) has a particularly dark sound for a mid-priced instrument. It is crafted in Romania from highly select Carpathian tonewoods. The top is solid spruce while the back ribs and scroll are flamed maple. This instrument has ebony pegs fingerboard and chinrest. The viola has a beautiful hand-applied multi-layer spirit varnish done in the early 20th century Markneukirchen German style. This instrument has a Level II Professional Setup which includes a hand-cut hand-fitted and adjusted soundpost high-quality Aubert #7 bridge hand-fitted and lubricated pegs in matching material to other fittings finely finished nut fine planed and dressed fingerboard properly adjusted tailgut and D’Addario Helicore strings.
