2026 String Teacher Workshop at Ohio State University
July 12–18, 2026 - Ohio State University (Columbus, OH) will host their 41st String Teacher Workshop featuring over 20 clinicians. This event is designed for school string teachers to learn, build community, and make music with string teachers from around the world! Rettig Music is a proud partner of this educational event. Music Matters Ohio Instrument Drive
Music Matters Ohio is a program dedicated to placing instruments in the hands of students and schools across the state. They have launched the first statewide instrument drive to help ensure every student has access to music education. Donations of new and gently used instruments of any kind will be accepted on May 30th, 2026. Music programs in Ohio schools continue to face budget pressures that leave many students without access to the instruments they need. Music Matters Ohio aims to bridge that gap by collecting donated instruments and redistributing them directly to the students and schools that need them most. Rettig Music is partnering with Music Matters Ohio and offering a donation dropoff location for the Toledo-area at Rettig Music - Toledo, OH. 2026 Bowling Green State University Trombone Day
Sunday, February 8, 2026 - Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH) will hold a Trombone Day featuring faculty and guest performances, masterclasses, exhibits, and a final concert. Sunday, January 25th 2026 - Ohio University (Athens, OH) holds their annual event dedicated to trombone players. This event includes a group warm-up, master classes, mass trombone choir, and a final concert. High school and college students are strongly encouraged to participate.
